Wall Map for planning LEJOG

Post by Willsmum »

Any recommendations please for a large wall map of the British Isles that I can trace my son's route and keep for posterity. I hadn't realised till shopping around that maps can be political, geographical, relief etc so happy to hear ideas from you experienced LEJOGers out there.

I have the Michelin one on my wall slightly more than a yard square - about 39" x 39". It's good enough.

This is mine from the publicity for my JOGLE on the Chopper in 2010.
I downloaded a big schematic from the internet and then divided it up into A4 sheets and printed them out, then joined them up. I then annotated the places I stayed and the basic outline of my route.

My idea was for a simple map. Buy one, and you get a "map" of UK and all the roads that you won't be going anywhere near. Pointless.
