Ineos 39.59 challenge

Postby 1982john » 7 Dec 2019, 3:06am

We recently witnessed one of the greatest sporting achievements when Kipchoge broke the 2-hour barrier for the marathon. This led me to think what could be possible for Lejog?

The current record is 43 25. A record that might stand for some time.

Now Kipchoge was not following the rules for his sport, it was all about what is possible. Suppose we could apply the same to Lejog what would that look like?

You could have a few riders towing, maybe even a police escort to avoid lights, domestiques to pass you food and drink etc.

How much could the time go down? Could they break the 40-hour barrier?

The above record is only for a bicycle.

The record for cycling from Land's End to John O' Groats is held by Andy Wilkinson, who completed the journey in 41 hours, 4 minutes and 22 seconds on a Windcheetah recumbent tricycle.

Luck ............ :D

39.59 for 25 miles, I thought when I read the title
Entertainer, kidult, curmudgeon
Cycling-of course, but it is far better on a Gillott
