Transport of bike

Postby peregrino » 4 Feb 2020, 10:27pm

Hello,

Is not easy to take the bike from Portugal to Inverness without paying 2 times in airplanes because I don´t have an direct fligth. I´m trying from London connecting with the Caledonian Sleeper or via Edimburg.
The prices are very different and the time I need too. I saw here the option to hide a car. Isn´t to expensive to take one from Edimburg ou London to Inverness?

Another thing. When I finish my ride, I will need a Card box to take the bicycle from London to Portugal. Where can I find one in London? Any shop sells it or is better to ask it in advance?

Do you know any courier that transport the bike from London to Portugal?

In Clicktrans, an operator asked me 200€ to transport bike from London to Inverness. IS this the BREXIT? :-)

Thanks

Have you found The Man in Seat 61? https://www.seat61.com, https://www.seat61.com/CaledonianSleepers.htm

We often use rented cars to move the bikes. You need to look at the price and put it in the option appraisal. But there can be big savings in time if the collection and drop-off points work well.
