Fourth person needed for Lejog

Postby Liveinhope » 8 Feb 2020, 7:41am

We are looking for a fourth person to join our LEJOG trip. 12May - 6 June approx. We are 3 guys 60 years young. One in the Peak District, one in Harpenden, one near Oswestry. All using Gravel/ touring bikes and self supported with light panniers. Planning safe and adventurous route.

Potentially, not sure of dates though. You're planning a 25-day trip? That's more to my liking than the usual 7 - 10 days. I've been toying with the idea of LEJOG for a few years now but thought I'd wait until I retire (which will be in a few weeks) so trip duration not so much a factor.

I'd be most interested in your intended route and accommodation choices. I have considered 3 plausible routes, Cicerone, Royston Wood's "safer" route and the WIMPs LEJOG route. There is also the Cycling UK B&B & YHA routes, plus an almost limitless amount of others out there. Fast & busy major road routes not so appealing to me.

I’m in Harpenden but you are going a year too early for me!

Hello,
I'm looking to cycle LEJOG in May. I'm a 59 year old man, and am used to riding 70 miles + in a day. Have completed 300 km audax in the past. Are you still looking for a 4th person to join your group?
Regards, Andy

I'm a 71 year old American male, and I ride a folding bike/trailer. I'd like to do Lejog in May and it would be nice to have companions. I like riding 50-70 miles daily . I'm not fast but keep a steady pace. I've toured across the US, China, Taiwan. I'm on the quiet side.

I detect a WIMPS2 emerging here. Is the OP still interested? If not, even more like a repeat of WIMPS. Route discussion anyone?

Not looking good at the moment, especially with your travel history. :(

Yea, I know that it probably wasn't recently.
