Accommodation near Aviemore?

Postby LittleGreyCat » 15 Feb 2020, 8:01pm

Having nailed down the first 3 days I am now looking at Day 4.

Starting at Cromarty, Inverness is far too close but then the accommodation looks a bit sparse at the 50 mile mark.

There is https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/high-range-motel.en-gb.html? which seems to be a reasonable price (half the price of Aviemore hotels).

This is about 62 miles from Cromart so stretching my legs a bit.
I see frequent mention of Kingussie but that is over 77 miles and probably a bit ambitious for the first few days.

There is a very good youth hostel in Aviemore and another one out by Loch Morlich. Both are excellent.

Scotland is the easy bit.
Doing JOGLE is the best way of an End2End as you get fitter as you go. By the time you get to the hard work of Devon and Cornwall, you'll be fine.

Of course YHA is not as attractive in these viral times.

Yes, JOGLE is intended as extended training for the hills at the end.
