The Tamar to JOG?
The Tamar to JOG?
Heads up, everyone: Cornwall Council has this morning announced that it is considering closing the border with England.
Re: The Tamar to JOG?
Any info on this?
Bridge 1 - The Tamar Suspension Bridge Saltash/Plymouth has been closed to cycles for months, and won't be open again until summer.
Bridge 2 - A390 Newbridge Hill Gunnislake down to Gunnislake New Bridge - soon to celebrate its 500th birthday - has restricted traffic and has overnight closures sometimes.
Bridge 3 - Horsebridge very rural and tiny lanes east of Stoke Climsland.
Bridge 4 - Often they close Greystones Bridge SE of Launceston due to lorries hitting the walls. Almost a constant problem.
Bridge 5 - Dunheved Bridge is the main A30 crossing.
Bridge 6 - Polson Bridge on the Old A30 often closed due to flooding.
Bridge 7 and 8 are Nether Bridge old and new north of Launceston.
There are 23 road bridges over the Tamar, and I rode them all some years back.

Is this because they're fed-up of cross-border raids for loo roll?
(I did wonder what was down all those "abandoned" tin mines ... )
