Highlands is turning away dozens of camper vans that are trying to "escape" to various campsites / wild camping around there.

I saw that!

I doubt they would bother a two wheeled cyclist minding his own business.

Up to you, but you're betting on that against being turned away or possibly being stuck for the duration wherever is locked down hard during your trip

According to your link, they're being "urged not to visit" which is something I'd respect, though it isn't the same as being turned away.

We were due to do lejog on June 13, we have decided to postpone and cancelled all our accommodation on friday. The b and bs were fine and expecting this. We will do it same time next year. Things are getting scary, and we should all listen to the advice and stay away from all socialising.

They are being turned away https://www.thenational.scot/news/18325 ... ands-park/
If I’m reading the mood right then very shortly they’ll be driven out.

i must be going stir crazy - last bit made me laugh out loud.

By the by, i wouldn't stay in any form of accommodation even if they were open. And I doubt they will be.

We've got to be in this together, there's no way anyone can in all conscience put people at risk.

My back up plan is unusual. I'd hoped to do my 9th LEJOG this May, then if everybody was cool about it, I'd sneak the magic 10th in during September. However, I'm going instead to do a virtual LEJOG in May, mimicking each day as closely as possible, based from home. I'm working on routes now, the hardest bit is getting the climbs in without copious repetitions of Pitchcott Hill. I'll report back if I can work it out.

Gwynedd and Anglesey councils have asked all accommodation providers to close. Unlikely to affect any but the strangest LEJOG route but I expect other local authorities will act similarly. I'm undecided whether to replan for September or wait until next year.

SYHA and most independent hostels in Scotland now appear to have closed and Scotrail has cut back to a skeletal service in remote areas - and the spread of the virus is not yet anywhere near the top of the exponential growth curve so anticipate bigger clampdowns in the pipeline. Stay home and ride local while that remains an option. LeJoG will be there for another day.

Hi,
I am still planning june, maybe I might get lucky by then.
Madly thought of a stupid idea about two weeks ago, where I would do the trip on a packet of biscuits a day :? :P
Seriously some biscuits are high cal. (1500kcal)
I reckon you could do it carrying all your food (normal food)....if I was fitter maybe.

But missed so much training when I come to to the dry run I will probably pass and dream of 2021.

I used to do a full day at work on a packet of chocolate digestives in my pocket. That was after breakfast and before dinner mind you :D
