Lejog starting this Thursday

Post by Hidswills »

Hi guys, sorry I haven't posted since last year. Unfortunately my husband made it as far as Carlisle and a very silly car knocked him off his bike.... that obviously ended the trip as he needed surgery and recovery.
So we have been planning all year to re attempt it and due to the virus the date keeps getting pushed forwards.
We've made the decision to head to lands end tomorro with the start day being Thursday. The same as last year, I will be leap frogging him and setting up the tent ready for his arrival. We've booked the first 3 nights but I'm quite concerned about the rest of the trip, especially Scotland! Here's hoping he makes it to the end in one piece this year! At 65 I think it will be his last attempt!

Hope you have good ride the weather from Friday on looks pretty good.

Might pass you going the other way Friday evening (Bath to Wellington) or Saturday (Wellington to West Cornwall). I should have a spare homemade flapjack if you are flagging as I'll probably pack too many!

Good luck with the trip and I hope you get past Carlisle this time.
Scotland, camp sites, should be open by the time you reach here. Still looks like some might open without facilities though so worth checking.

All the best to both of you! Very kind of you to support him on this ride. Sounds like a determined man too.

The weather for England looks fairly dry and warm next week. Hope it stays clear throughout the ride.

Sorry for the late reply. He's just finished day 7 and we are near Preston. All going well so far. Sorry I don't know his route, I know it's not the quickest way! You can follow him on Strava to see the progress Check out Dennis Williams on Strava
