I use the spot and check the map as a excuse to ear a bit if flapjack or a few wine gums....
The second day of my lejog which I knew the best - route wise and a fixed appointment with my parents meant I hit the wall due to poor fueling!!!
I'm one for taking in the scenery having done it tooooo fast!!

As an aside to this thread I had an enquiry to my www.cycle-endtoend.org.uk website asking if the route was signposted!! - needless to say the person was from the USA.

Probably a reasonable question for somebody not living in the UK or just exploring possible "named" route ideas. I might ask "are the US ACA Routes signposted" and e.g. the EuroVelo routes are signposted.
