I really like the OS moving map app. But for following a defined route on a bike I find the turn-by-turn function on my Edge 1000 way ahead. ; - )

As usual I suggest trying both.

Years ago I met Mr Spreadsheet doing his LEJOG carrying a full hard backed AA road atlas. He’d never once considered how heavy it was. :)

Considered the Bolt? Cheaper but with all the functionality needed. That's what I use these days for all rides including multi-day ones. I've been using one for years with no problem. 15-hour battery life!
