Reflections of LEJOG 2020

Post by djrikki »

Been thinking back to the Summer of last year when I rode LEJOG and what an amazing experience that was and really opened my eyes to what the British Isles has to offer. Especially Scotland it was truly breathtaking and as soon as you crossed over from England you knew you had arrived as the landscape changed dramatically.

Thought I'd drop a link to my latest YouTube video on here for anyone interested on both the route I took, which frankly was widely different to any official route, the places I stopped at along the way and of course the sights I saw along the way!

If anyone is indeed planning to ride it in 2021 I do of course wish you the best, but also that in terms of a pandemic is a lot less complicated than it was for me. In 2020 it was anything but straightforward, camp sites closed left, right and centre, restaurants/pubs with different opening hours or not open at all. In the end though it didn't take anything away from the whole experience.

My goodness!
Someone likes to take the long way round and to make it hard!
Only got part-way through the second day, but I was already horrified about the route.

Thanks guys. Yes Mick it was rather hilly at times, but loved almost every minute! You should see my lead in video as well when I cycled from The Cotswolds to LE - Dartmoor had some incredibly steep climbs!
