All I know is that I am usually in dietary ketosis and this allows me to usually ride without refuelling when others feel the need to stop and eat.
Where on earth is the fun in that?! Love a good cafe stop. :-)
The OP is planning on 50-mile days - plenty of time to enjoy some sightseeing and a cafe stop or two.
As the OP planning 50 mile days I won't be enjoying the cafe stops particularly as I don't tend to do cafe stops!
Mentioning this led down all sorts of rabbit holes.
Suffice it to say that I don't do cake because I am a T2 diabetic and it does very bad things to my blood glucose levels.

I find that you can go a long way on a Keto-friendly, low carb, traditional full English breakfast - bacon, eggs, sausage, mushrooms, black pudding, and tomatoes, washed down with tea or coffee. If you want to snack during the day, then Aldi do some Nutty Granola bars that are mostly nuts and also fairly low carb. Scotch eggs are also a good, low carb snack apart from the breadcrumb coating. I make my own using boiled eggs, turkey or pork mince and crushed linseed that you can buy in Aldi.

I do like a cafe stop but tend to limit it to just tea nowadays.

As far as training goes, you just need to get in as many miles as you can.

Thanks. I can't find those.

The reason I'm interested is that I wouldn't describe that composition as either low carbohydrate or ketogenic...

I can’t find them either. Perhaps they were one of the special purchases that they occasionally have.
