Thanks. At 72 I’m not likely to be doing this. I tour plenty in places of my choice.Ron wrote: ↑29 Sep 2021, 3:22pmI only did it after a proposed tour of Cornwall and Devon did not live up to expectations and decided to cycle home safe in the knowledge that I could jump on a train to get home when I got tired. I got home under my own power and decided to carry on to JoG.
The thought of a LeJog had never appealed to me, mainly because I had imagined it would require more fitness and stamina than I could muster. After completion I realised I had sufficient fitness and with that knowledge came the confidence to undertake longer tours.
I wouldn't be interested in doing another End to End, but would still recommend it for anyone as a good starter and confidence builder for more adventurous cycle touring in countries more sympathetic to the needs of cyclists.

No I was asking James, he turned up unannounced at a bike bike shop in Ludlow and when they said they were too busy to have a look at it he got his funnies on!
Re: Return of the WIMPS
Yeap I fixed it sometime afterwards.
Not creaking now.
Just my focus has started clicking!
Think it's bb30 is shot....
Not a hard job easier than threaded tbh.
Are you moving to Bude Phil?
Cheers James

Bude........ offered the asking price then had an email saying they'd had an offer of £10k more. I didn't reply, then yesterday I was contacted again asking if I was still interested!!
They must think I'm stupid! Needs rewiring and the garage needs the flat roof replacing with a pitched roof. Might offer £10k less and see what happens,
Don't know why Mick F doesn't move somewhere like Bude, the sea air would do him the world of good!

Re: Return of the WIMPS
Just a little lesson in the accent just in case you move there.
Bude is pronounced Bood.
Years ago, on Radio Devon and Radio Cornwall, they used to have a presenter telling about the traffic in the counties.
Alec Benford (I think that's spelled correctly) ex traffic cop with the broadest Devon accent you could imagine.
He came on one day telling of an accident at Wainhouse Corner on the A39 - he pronounced it as Wain'ouse Cornerrr.
He added, "For all you Grockles, Wain'ouse Cornerrr is jus' down from Bood."
Laughed my socks off!

That was at the start of the year and house prices might be slowing by now?

Re: Return of the WIMPS
Hi,
Weston-super-Mare would be my last choice!
Only been there once but plenty of drug use fully open for anybody passing to see.
we parked up somewhere quiet but it didn't stay quiet for very long invaded by several boy racer hatchback types clearly up to no good.
Make a silly offer, then go looking again straight away.
