"Retired" .... each time I've been there on my bike (twice) .... he's retired and gone home in the middle of the afternoon and failed to answer the phone to return as offered on the sign to take some snaps :(

+1

When/if he was there, his car was parked only a few yards from the sign therefore spoiling a long shot of it. It spoiled the whole effect.

When I was there last, I posed in front of the sign and had a passerby photograph me.

... we got someone to take a pic of us by the post stump at JOG (no finger boards) and then a friend who had managed to get a pic of himself at the sign photo-shopped the boards and our names in from his picture onto ours!

In total contrast on both visits to Land's End the photographer, a lady IIRC, could not have been more helpful - even taking some pix with our own cameras (after we had bought pix from her!)

It's a bit of an old news story this, the sign featured in the newspaper pic. was shunted into a nearby car park in 2013 by the people who bought over the Hotel and a replacement for free use was erected at the harbour, Little wonder the guy was a bit jaded after a freebie sign was set up, it's a wonder he hung on for so long.
