Not as far as I can see, but he was intending to go LEJOGLE I think. But if he left in Mid-August one might have thought there would have been a report of him getting to JOG by now.

Perhaps he may pop-up again if he gets reported lost again:

Chapeaux to Laurence Brophy!
At 88, the oldest cyclist to complete LEJOG's 874 miles!

Oldest man to ride length of Britain did it twice to be sure

As with all things Laurence it’s always confusing or maybe the Torygraph can get nothing right.
I suspect he did more than 874 miles and his own admission was to ride 2000 miles in 25days
https://www.llamau.org.uk/news/laurence ... -of-llamau
That’s 80 mile a day for 25 consecutive days.
Also note he’s forgotten all about his 2018 attempt?

Chapeau! A remarkable chap and a remarkable achievement. Yes he not only cycled from Land's End to John-O'-Groats but he cycled to the start from his home in south Wales. He had planned to cycle home again from JOG but having begun his journey in mid August and endured the worst of storms Ellen and Francis, he wisely decided to take the train home.

The report isn't quite accurate - although the chap is to be admired nevertheless.

In 2017 an 89 year old man, Norman Franklin, rode the E2E - but he was on an electric bike so perhaps not quite in the spirit of the cycle ride?

I've just re-vamped the www.cycle-endtoend.org.uk website - the one section that is yet to be updated is the "Records" .... as there is no official event or route/rules for the event it is difficult to publish the accurate or definitive facts with any certainty.

As the site owner I get loads of claims for youngest/oldest rider but they can seldom be substantiated. There are a couple of record-recording associations that do scrutinise record attempts and those records are perhaps the ones to publish?

I'd be very interested to receive feedback and thoughts on the records etc in order to improve the website content

I’m still out there meeting interesting E2Enders on the route.
Good to hear you’re still going, I called in to see Tony but he’d had his stroke by then. An unfitting end for such a lovely guy.

Congratulations on a wonderful achievement. Impressive enough at that age but even more so when you consider the time of year. Peter's birthday is on the 18th August, that's the very earliest that he can start. All of his rides have been completed as autumn fast approaches.
