Saudi Arabia hosts its first ever women's cycle race
but seems there is resistance

it seems to be run at twilight and inthe night ) from the pictures) - rather hot other wise, the women are not in lycra but heavy looking clothes

"A Twitter user commented: "I am not a religious cleric but a woman can be seductive and getting on a bicycle reveals all her attractive parts to men. If she wants to ride a bike she must do that by herself and not in public nor in front of people." "

In 1978 an all female cycle race in the UK had the very opposite stance on clothing

that will be afghani womens MTB team.

I imaging saudi women in hijabs and the usual clobber will be a bit like watching commuters racing each other in london - which is what the picture looks like.

women only track neets might work though there'd be a black market in DVDs - to the male population it would be like the benny hill show.

still I wish them well, the middle east is only going backwards at the moment IMO
