Blackthorn, primrose and celandine - spring delights

I have been leading a group of Lithuanian women (Vilnus Vikings) on a ride from Lincoln to Louth and back to Lincoln.They were taken aback by the stunning blossom,and the various yellows of indigenous wild flowers.

Great time of year for them to visit.
I once met a Danish couple in the Outer Hebrides. They were unbelievably excited at seeing a pig outdoors.

and coltsfoot, primroses, cowslips, wood anemone, violets....
catkins have just about finished on Alder and birch, but oak and willow are full here
I sat down for a sandwich on the Cleveland way to-day, and was surrounded by wild strawberry flowers.

I did like the outdoor pig remark.I do know poigs are prone to sunburn due to the opersistent reduction of hair cover induced by seklective
breeding.Many farmers overcome this by rubbing zinc oxiude on the huides or issuing tee shirts whiuch fiulter out harmnful rays.
