I thought we had been discussing the technical aspects but that implies something under "Campaigning and Public Policy."

You're right but I doubt whether that title will have them beating a path to the door. If the growing number of ebike riders got advice here then maybe a number would view Cycling UK as representing their interests. A separate section would be the first step.

OT. As if by magic a "Family Cycling" board has appeared.

Good idea IMO. Although I do not have permission either to read or to make any posts, work in progress presumably*.

EAPC board next?

*Edit: Now up and running.

Family Cycling has no more to do with electric bikes than any other section.

To me it would be about trailers, trailer bikes, and family orientated outings

Nothing wrong with electric bicycles for those that require them. If they allow people no longer able to pedal unassisted, or who never could/did get out cycling then I'm all for them.
I have a slightly different opinion about fit 20 somethings riding electric mountain bikes but that is a separate issue I guess.

I do think they should have a separate section or subsection though. There will often be some overlap between different sections. Bents with motors, touring with motors, etc, but I don't think this section should be a catch all for electric assisted bikes.

Meanwhile, I see electric bikes are in the news with a re-enactment of the Hovis bread boy advert using an electric bike to get up that hill

A ray of hope flickers in the sky, a tiny star lights up way up high, all across the land dawns a brand new morn, this comes to pass when a new forum board is born. :)

Of course it should be an Electric Cycles board in line with the 1883 rebrand  .

Not at all surprised... I managed a 3rd place on a local Strava climb riding my Dad's 20kg+, hub geared and belt driven eBike... it's quite remarkable how much difference they make on the hills (though I did put in quite a bit of effort myself).

(Of course I deleted the ride not so as not to muck up other's honest efforts!)

Caps lock key is on the left ;)

I'd start a thread in the e-bike section, with a product link...
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

It depends on weather we are talking about "E-Bikes" or "electrically assisted cycles", two completely different things.

My wife has a "PDQ Powertrike".
If I need help/information on it I usually look on "Disability aid" sites via Google.
