Pinion C1.12

Post by UpWrong »

Now available on all HPV bikes and most trikes, http://www.hpvelotechnik.com/presse/recumbents_with_pinion_integration_e.html

The Pinion C-line has a reduced Q-factor and chain-line and a lighter weight. The 17% steps between gears are slightly larger than I would like. Also I'd want to have locks instead of QRs on the boom.

One solution to the close steps could be to fit two sprockets close in size to get 'half-steps'. I did this on an old folder with a SA three-speed using a dished sprocket and a flat one. Amazingly it fitted after a bit of work with a Dremel! I like the concept of the Pinion.

I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my GT-S7275R using hovercraft full of eels.
