If can be more fun than that in the rain ......
I tend to wear a cagoule in the rain so no front zip, but they can be a bit boil in the bag.
If your not carefull you get a nice puddle collecting at your elbow.
If you forget to drain the puddle outwards before you signal then it drains inward .....
The last one I had, I hack the sleeves off at the elbows, problem solved ......
Fairing don't solve all problems in the rain.
At slow speed, you can collect a nice set of drops on it.
Pick up speed and hit a bump.
All the nice drops, fly into the air and straight back into your face .......
Where to start with recumbents?

Fairings can offer some winter protection.......

I understand the fine and honorable sentiment!
But it's not the puddles but the fact it feels so much more exposed to the rain itself.
That's where I was coming from too My natural instinct in heavy rain is to tilt my head down and forward, not lie back and embrace the deluge Then there's seeing where I'm going at night with oncoming vehicles and a relatively low eye height and water on my glasses. (Yes, contacts would work, but...)
