Looks like the on-site camping is all booked out. Anyone know a local campsite that has decent facilities ?
I fancy heading down Saturday and come back Sunday.

It's not the cheapest but it's OK and I've camped there before.

Never been before but very excited about being able to go this time.

I'll just be spectating with my wife and mother. If you see me (straw hat and shorts 5'10" tall) and my wife (4'10" tall) with a doddery 85yr old silver haired great grandmother in tow, do say hello

Details for Friday are a bit vague, are there normally any races before the 3pm sprints?

What an amazing event: at one end of the scale cyclists pedalling down the finishing straight chatting to each other and at the other end velomobiles averaging 40mph on a far-from flat circuit for a full hour.

Everyone, from many nations, super friendly and chatty and a 75th birthday collection of Mike Burrows ground breaking bicycles to ogle.

Last act of the day was a lap lead by Mike B on his oldest bike followed by all his others designs in chronological order - quite a treat

Sprint Mattias Konig 46.9mph
1 lap TT Daniel Fenn 38.5mph
1 hour criterium Charles Henry 38.6mph
15 min criterium Charles Henry 36.2mph
3 hour endurance Charles Henry 34.94mph

There were about 108 racers from all over Europe. The weather was hot hot hot and so was the atmosphere. What a smashing weekend. Photos are here:

The Laidback Bike Report will likely have some coverage from the weekend so that should be worth watching.

I only made it with my wife and children Friday and Sunday. Missed the Mike ride unfortunately. But loved all we saw. What a treat! Would have missed it was it not for the original post. Thank you.
