Recumbant trikes near Ipswich and Colchester

Hi,

On Monday I saw a yellow full bodied recumbent trike leaving Ipswich at about 17.30. The following morning I saw a yellow and blue one a little distance apart at about 07.30, I think it was the same yellow one as the night before. They were now going towards Colchester which is about 15 miles from where I saw the first one.

Good looking machines :)

I rarely see one let alone two - is there something going on?

If you have seen this before I put it on the" does anyone know forum" but no answers, then I saw thisforum and thought it may be more applicable.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Paul

In which case you might like to reconsider your signature, as the blue and white velomobile has 4 wheels

I think it's the natural order of things as per Animal Farm...

Hi,

Couldn't reply very well last night

XAP Bob you have a good point and really made me laugh :D . I have rarely had a car for personal use, we have the family car but the wife has that all week. So always on 2 wheels, pedal if I can and if not motorbike, Over a year ago I got a car for fun and the days I can't ride. Add to this I also started riding a Unicycle which is the most frustrating, hilarious and silly thing but I love it.

So back on point: time to reconsider my Orwell quote. I may keep it because I love Animal Farm but will give it some serious thought to reflect my changed life.

BTW what are these recumbents like to ride? I feel am missing something: I have a Uni for one wheel, pedal ad motorbikes for 2, a Smart Roadster for 4 wheels so probable need a 3 wheeler to complete the set :D

Cheers,

Paul

+1, and comfortable over longer distances. Velomobiles are another level of speed (esp. downhill) and noise (except wind noise) then add lots of weather protection (with the potential to get 'rather warm' in summer). Weight affects uphill speed, except for 'rolling hills' where kinetic energy from the pedal assisted downhills (aerodynamic resistance being low, hence potential downhill speeds being high) can be used to good effect to climb the next hill.

Hi,

Guess I should try one :)

I'll see if I can find a local shop that will let me have a go :)

Cheers,

Paul
