KMX Trikes Anyone?

Post by imppact »

At the age of 53 I've just discovered the fun & enjoyment that can be had on three wheels. I'm now considering the purchase of my first trike, a KMX. The two machines I'm currently looking at are from their 2008 model range, the Viper & Cobra. If purchased, they will be fitted with mudguards/fenders & a pannier rack. Does anyone here have experience of either machine, particularly seat comfort over an extended period...

Many Thanks

KMX carts are fine machines that have developed over thr years, but still tend to show their "fun" roots and the square tubing.

This includes difficulty in fitting carriers and other attachments. For a similar price the Catrike range for insurance is a much more refined machine.

Bot h the the Villager and Trail are ata similar price:

i've ridden KMX, and seen plenty of broken ones. IMHO, they're poorly made from poor materials - they're more like toys for teenagers than serious transport for grown-ups.

in addition to the above reply, sjsc has this already with mudguards and a rack. my mrs. is happy with hers.

I met a guy while on the York rally, he then tagged along with me while I stayed at a camp site afterwards. He had a KMX, he didn't like it, he said to some people at the site that were looking at our machines that his was the clapped out Escort where as my Trice "S" was the BMW

An unfortunate analogy - a bit like the Catrike one I came across when I was researching.....

If the Windcheetah id the Porsche of recumbent trikes then the Catrike is the Ferrari!
