Prone Low Profile
Prone Low Profile
Has anyone ever seen one? I discovered a photo of one (I can't scan it) in a 2001 catalogue. It was made by a company called Cool Breeze in London N1. Basically the rider lay belly down holding handlebars down by the (24") front axle, pedalling a convential but upside down and back to front transmission driving a 700 rear wheel, with his or her head conveniently close to the accident. It looks very fast (at least on flat roads) and VERY dangerous.I can't imagine they sold many.

Wouldn't have been great in the rain, without awesome mudguards!
I don't think anyone ever solved the problem of how to let people breathe well while on this style of bike.

Breathing would have been the main problem. That and finding someone willing to hit everything head first.
Oh! Hang on a minute, that's what happens on a DF anyway!

PQ, sometime of the touring section of this forum, has tried one. IIRC, he said it felt fast but terrifying!
