Not something you see every day... How long did it take you to learn to ride it? Is previous recumbent experience a drawback or a benefit, I wonder!

Well, this is the first one.
How long? two weeks, evenings and even nights.
Technical reasons : I had to adjust space between crank and chair, set proper in my very humble opinion, size and shape of handlebars and changed chainring to 72.
After that I changed my seat to winged version: great solution to keep backpack on it.
I've added a mirror, need to put back direction lights and bolster.
Second thing was convinced myself to that position - yes, that's my first bent.

My friend start to ride with proper crank-seat distance and well-set handlebars at sight.
I think person with experience from recumbent will use it same day....and I am sure will enjoy that. :)

I ask because Flevobikes are notoriously hard to ride with their centre-hinged frame. I'm reminded of the tale of the golfer who took his friend round the course for his first ever game and hit holes in one each time. When the golfer professed his amazement the friend replied, "I didn't know it was supposed to be difficult!". I suspect lack of prior recumbent experience may have made your learning process much simpler than for those of us with preconceptions from other machines.

There are some pretty impressive videos on YouTube of riders doing bunny hops, track stands and even riding backwards on Flevobikes. I'm attracted to the notion of riding along with hands free to eat, read the map, flap in the wind...

With my ICE Q but currently unable to ride my Raptobike due to vertigo. I keep wabbling on it and fall over.

Erm - vertigo on a low racer.
That it slightly ironic....

I'm based in Rugby (hence the Draycote rides) with a 2010 ICE Sprint2

Vertigo is not a fear or phobia. It is an issue with balance - both my wife and dad have it. Acrophobia is the fear of heights.

Yeah, but common usage works for irony ;)

Hi
I'm at Anstey in Leicestershire
I ride a Mission jt2000 semi recumbent trike.

I'm just getting back into cycling and I'm looking to get together for a ride with anyone near enough.
I would post a picture but I keep getting messages saying the file is too big - it's 535kb and 3.5 x 2.75 inches
