WANTED: Odds and Ends for an old bloke

Postby Morzedec » 14 May 2019, 9:01am

I'm too old now to buy anything new, so might anyone have the following available? (A free camping holiday in Franc offered in return).

I've a recently renovated 'light tourer' - yes, another one - so now need a reasonable bar bag or small front rack for it. I also need a pair (or three) of flat-bottomed shoes, because the soles of my trusty old Avocets have finally given up the ghost. British size 12, which equates to - well, I dunno, in Euros, but quite large. I need laces for high insteps, so slip-on's don't work for me.

I'm also looking for a rich widow, if you might have a spare one knocking about anywhere.

Happy days,

I have a blue Decathlon bar bag you are welcome to for postage. It's all OK, the only thing not great is the plastic map case has some cracking. PM me if interested.

... or just a sister who is a cute ...
I have two doctors, my left leg and my right leg. (G. M. Trevelyan)
PS I always wondered why the YHA HQ was called Trevelyan House. :)

Trevelyan House?
I think ,was it G. M.? Trevelyan who was one the founding fathers of YHA.
Again, not sure , one time owner of *Wallington Hal, gifted to NATIONAL TRUST up in Northumberland-one
of the earliest Youth hostels-pre-war accommodation paillasses in stables loft.
He was a passivist so didn't qualify for positive publicity.

*Wallington Hall-for some years when you arrived by bike or walking you got a chitty
for free tea or coffee when you bought food-that finishped last year.
Now you need to pay entrance fee to use the cafe.

** Also ,up here, "Gibside", near Rowlands Gill, continues to operate drinks voucher scheme.
Anybody know of similar National trust venues that provide sustenance for the hoi poloi?
