Sorted!!
I have set old stays missing one clampset.
Use Gordon's slotted clamps (mine are tarnished) and a 5mm. x20mm. st/st capscrew.
Can put all in post Monday but pm me your ph.no about what you want sending.
The stays will clean up with wipe of a BRILLO pad .
The m/guard bolts will be difficult to remove-probably slotted on before stays bent.
You are lucky-these have been jammed in the brace of garage door for probably twenty years waiting for a good home!

Cos ,always, when we throw something out someone needs it two weeks later!!

I have raised this previously.
I I don't have the skills to do it but can we have a "SALVAGE SECRETARY" to record the spares with "life left" we have replaced on refit/maintenance before they fail but will get member back on the road again at very little cost or delay?
CLASSIC CASE! broken flange on CAMPAG Hub-wheels get binned!
But rims, cones, bearings and most importantly, spindles (I have snapped three) still useable --maybe for some old vet/war baby on state e pension back on the road.

I too have two spare sets, BUT the reason they are spare is because with time the slot enlarges and does not clamp the stays.
You can 'close the slot with a vice but risk snapping it, I've also wrapped tape around the stays to improve grip, or maybe file down the flats so stay impacts on stay but i think this would make adjustment awkward and unlikely to grip adequately.
I have manufactured brackets similar to conventional mudguards from stainless sheet, these provide far better assembly and adjustment than the salmon method.
Anyone want a complete set of the very narrow 'Audax' Salmon mudguards?
I'm only using the mountain bike ones now.
