SORTED: Rear pannier rack

Postby Jan Marten » 30 Jun 2020, 7:29pm

Of this type only. Cosmetic condition irrelevant, must be structurally sound. Only in-stock source I can find is Wish, with whom I will not deal.

Thx for offer but no. I want a complete rack. Buying bits here and there would work out rather expensive.

Hi,
I had a quick look on eBay.
The more common rack with post mounting as well two other seat stay mounts per side, So that's five mounting points in total, can be had for about £17 in a few days.
The actual rack you've posted you're looking at something like £50 from Italy.
I've mostly seen these from China but that will probably take some time like two or three months at the moment.

Something similar-looking apparently in stock on Amazon UK for £21.37, assuming they are a company you will deal with? That's including UK delivery - not sure where you are.

The seller is in China and the delivery date is weeks out so it may be needed before then. Also there is some doubt about the delivery cost. But it is claimed to be in stock.

That Amazon ad. must be new.

Two months ago I bought one from ebay for £9.49 inc. P&P with a quoted five week delivery. Well, that date came and went. Received my refund late last week.

Trying to buy another, the only option I found is £24 inc. P&P on Wish.

240% increase in two months :-(

Hi,
I have been buying and selling Ebay for 18 years minus 2 weeks :)
I have noticed since covid that sellers are failing to send from overseas and on time, had several refunds and even now sellars who say they are UK based have nil stock after you pay.

I will still buy from china etc but expect to wait about 3 weeks plus, that's not unusual even before covid, a lot of uk stockist are also struggling to get stuff delivered too.
Good luck.

Proportionately I would say that China vs UK stockist for similar items are very equal on satisfaction.
If item does not arrive and has not got tracking info you get you money back from ebay.
