Touring Bike ~56cm

Postby mkwcz » 7 Oct 2020, 4:56pm

Hi everyone!

I've been looking for decent second hand steel frame tourer for quite a while now without much success.
Keen on the Thorn range, Spa Cycles, Kona Sutra, Surly LHT and the like.
Ideally flat bar but could give drops a try if there's a long/uncut steerer for more upright position (which could also allow me to switch to flats).
Ideal budget between 400-600 but could stretch up a little for something really worth it.
Based in Bristol but could travel reasonably or arrange courrier.

I have this, an ex display Reynolds 525 frameset with carbon forks. Seat tube is 55cm c-t
Accepts 28mm with mudguards, in fact up to a measured 30mm, has third bottle cage mounts under down tube, pannier rack mounts and second set of eyelets at the dropouts
Never ridden but has some scratches under the chainstays from where it was mounted.
Stem included, seatpost isn't but is a 27.2mm fitment, can include the fitted mudguards which are also unused.
based in Hertfordshire, Happy to post however.

I have a Blue 54cm Surly LHT frameset and some excellent professionally built 26in wheels. Currently not fully built up as a bike so would made a simple project or I have all the components it would just need a couple of new cables.

I have a 56cm Thorn XTC in Blue (725 steel).
It has some XT parts, drop bars (longish steerer)
9 speed bar end shifters, triple front, mudguards.
2 sets of new/unused Continental tyres.
I could meet you half way if you want it, as I live just south of Bristol.
Thinking of about £350. It's not new, it's my old commuter. It should have many more miles left in it.
