Allen key brakes for nutted

Postby mellon farmer » 10 Aug 2019, 4:40pm

I have some silver Shimano brakes 47-57mm drop with the recessed Allen key fitting but a frame that needs the nutted fitting. Any one up for a swap?

Conversion bolts are available like these. https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brakes/jtek ... onversion/
You may find them elsewhere with a bit of googling.
At the last count:- Focus Variado, Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin, Raleigh 20, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Longstaff trike conversion on a Falcon corsa. :D

What RJB said. And it might not have occurred but you only need one (usually) .
You use your current front on the back with a nut rather than the tubular Allen nut, and buy a longer one to rebuild the rear brake around to use in the front . :D
