It was reported some while back that thefts/break-ins were down. Whyso? Not through better security but because China had entered the market and goods were plentiful and cheaper. Now you didn't have to go out and nick someone else's clobber,everyone has that clobber cheaper and it isn't worth nicking.
I'm wondering if this trend continues?
At bike stands and what-not, I notice lights still on bikes when I return. Same too with saddles,computors,panniers,handlebars...whatever.
Seen today: Brompton locked outside shopping centre: you never used to see them unattended.
See a Brooks Cambium left on bike down RatCity the other day.
I don't hear of handlebars,wheels,saddles going walkabout at the station too.
I leave my bike without having to take anxiolytics fearing it's not there on my return these days!
