Garmin can contact the owner if you provide them with the serial number. Good find. You've saved someone some cash [emoji106]

Hi, I have sent an email to Garmin with the serial number and I am waiting to hear back. thought I would advertise on this forum as well. Hopefully I can return it to the rightful owner.

Timely reminder for Garmin owners:

Go into the 'startup.txt' file and edit it.
I always put "If found please return to name contact details. You can also stipulate length of time to display.

Not sure if all models can do this but it's something I've got on my 810.

For the OP, turn the Garmin on and look at the rides and the maps of the rides and you might get a clue to where the loser lives.

It works with
applies to the Edge 510, Edge 520, Edge 800, Edge 810, Edge 1000, and the Touring & Touring Plus. It will NOT work on the Edge 200, 500 and Edge 705.

I've done it with my Oregon 600 too

That's a bit cruel, they've just misplaced their Garmin, doesn't make them a loser

My 800 and 820 both display my name and number for 1 minute on start up 8)
I think it's possible on all Garmins?
