Stolen, now Returned!: U-plus 2 tag-along, West Sussex

Our red Creswell U-plus 2 tandem trailer bike was stolen from our back driveway, from behind a closed gate (it was out of view) last night. Pretty much the same trailer as the later Pashley version. Not in great condition, rear plastic mudguards getting tatty. Seats both at their lowest setting. Rear handlebars a bit loose with a less-than-ideal rubber shim.

Thief probably rode off on the old-and-rusty mountain bike it was attached to, bike coloured pink and turquoise, old double-sided SPD pedals. Bike probably worth £10 at the most.

Our twins will be most disappointed if we can't get it back, as they love cycling to and from school on it.

These things are pretty rare, so hopefully someone will try to sell it and we'll find it again.

Scum. A man in blue tells me we are facing an epidemic of cycle theft in West Sussex at the moment. Hope you get it back.

Some good news!

We knew someone else who has a U-plus 2 near here, and they publicised the theft on their Facebook page. Since they've lived locally for decades, and used to run a pub, they know lots of people locally. Anyway, someone spotted the U-plus 2 in someone else's garden, and let them know. Some enquiries later, with no names being named, and we have the U-plus 2 back!

Sadly the bike is still missing, with it's rather-rare bike mount for a Miklink heavy-weight trailer

But the twins are very pleased to have the U-plus 2 back

Sorry, not for a year or more. We still use it daily for the school run.

These do come up on eBay every now and then.
