Two bikes stolen near Cambridge

Postby cottenhamdom » 16 May 2012, 1:13pm

Last night two mountain bikes were stolen from High Street, Fulbourn, Cambridge, while we were in the Six Bells pub after a ride. They were on the roof of my Mondeo estate on Thule 591 carriers which were locked, and were also padlocked. If anyone reading this gets offered them, or hears of it...

The bikes were:

Whyte 46 6" suspension frame with Fox Float RP2 shock
Maverick DUC32 6" travel 'upside-down' fork
Shimano XT derailleurs and shifters
Shimano XTR crankset
Hope Mono M4 disk brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear
Mavic 321 Disc front wheel with Maverick 24/7 hub
Stan's ZTR Flow rear wheel with Hope Pro 2 Evo hub
Time ATAC XS clipless pedals
Frame number FA04060255, 5B-02

Specialized Safire FSR Expert Carbon 120mm suspension frame with Specialized shock and Specialized Brain
Fox F32 Float 120mm travel fork
Shimano SLX derailleurs and shifters
Shimano XT crankset
Avid Elixir carbon disk brakes
DT Swiss wheels
Crank Brothers Candy clipless pedals
Frame number WUD-80600134B, EN14766

Pictures attached.

The Safire is reasonably rare, and the Whyte is particularly unusual - I doubt there are 10 like it in the country.

My only hope is that the thieves are idiot enough to try and sell them 'as are' rather than selling off bits. Again, if anyone is offered a Maverick DUC32 fork...

I've set this post so I get notified if anyone replies.

Cheers
Dominic

Hi,

Have you setup email alerts on Gumtree and Ebay for that fork?

Thanks, John

I had for both bikes, but not the fork. Good idea! I'll do it straight away.

Thanks John
