My bright blue (with white decals) Mercian King of Mercia was stolen from Newcastle University this weekend just gone. It's very distinctive, and therefore likely to be recognised (I hope!). Unfortunately I don't have a serial number, but it's a frame from the 1960s. Original frame and paint work, but with modern upgrades! I attach some pictures. Details below. Any information, please contact me via the forum. Cash reward! May still be attached to it's ABUS D-lock (as it seems they detached the bike rack from the ground)!!
Details:
Mercian King of Mercia, 1960s touring frame, steel
Bright blue, with white decals and distinctive Mercian decals (see photos)
Shimano Tiagra chainring and cranks
Shimano Ultegra front derailleur
Shimano 105 brifters
Shimano XTR rear derailleur
Shwalbe Marathon Plus tyres
"Gear hanger" for rear derailleur
"Cable stop" (black) on down tube
Brooks leather saddle
Distinctive scars on front forks and rear derailleur that I would recognise!

Great news!

I'm so genuinely glad that the bike has been found. Losing my KoM is probably my biggest nightmare (I have an uncomplicated life!). I can only imagine how you felt.

Re: Mercian stolen, Newcastle
I have only had my KOM for a month and can't imagine having it stolen, I had a Chas Roberts taken ten years ago and it has taken me this long to replace it and realy bond with a bike again. Sad I know
