George Longstaff tourer 22"

Postby Beastly Boy » 9 Oct 2019, 11:16am

Hi all. Regrettably, I'm having to sell my beautiful 22" George Longstaff due to impending house move with less storage space.
Built early '98 in 653/531it has all grazings for 3 x bottle cages, cantilever brakes, pump, front and rear racks. Frame No. GL-1655-97. Quality components include TA triple chainset, Shimano Hyperglide 8 block/chain, campaign Chorus ergo levers, Campag Racing Triple front/rear mechs, 3TTT bars/100mm stem, alloy setpost, Brooks Professional saddle, Suntour cantilever brakes, Mavic Module 4 700c rims on Goldtec hubs/Sapim s/s spokes, Vittoria Randonneur 28mm tyres, Shimano A520 SPD pedals, SKS guards, Blackburn front/rear racks, Jagwire cables.
Resprayed 5 years ago to an exceptional high standard, the frame is in unmarked condition. There is some cosmetic surface rubbing to the cranks, pedals, bars and one brake lever; also slight scratching to rear mech.
Please feel free to ask for any other information.

At the last count:- Focus Variado, Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin, Raleigh 20, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Longstaff trike conversion on a Falcon corsa. :D

For those interested, the brazing on the rear rack is for an Exposure rear light as it won't fit on the seatpin once a saddle pack is fitted.

I went to look at this bike today and the pictures don't do it justice, beautifully fillet brazed and the paintwork is immaculate. Much as I wanted to buy it, sadly it was too long in the top tube for me. Someone will get a beautiful traditional touring bike.

Hi Mumbojumbo

Yes, I have the original receipt for the frame with the number written on it dated 11/03/98

Gear sizes are:- front chain rings 46/36/22, rear gears 13/15/17/19/21/23/26/30

Hope this information is useful.
