Lovely vintage touring bike in fantastic condition, especially for 31 years old - no rust and barely a mark on the frame. Bought from a local Cycling Collective workshop who serviced it professionally - apparently had been donated by an elderly gentleman and seen very little use. In truth I've only ridden it a few times myself, but it handles really smoothly.
Built around 1987 in Netherlands, this was a premium model designed to compete with the Super Galaxy. It has 18 Speed Deore (and the weird osymetric chainrings) with stem shifters, Brakes are cantilever. There are new Schwalbe Marathon tyres on Wolber Competition 58 rims and a new Selle Royal saddle. The original chromoplastic mudguards were yellowing, so I replaced them with some newer SKS, but you're welcome to the originals if you prefer. I also added some new Shimano SPD touring pedals. Being Dutch, it has a front Porter Rack with dynamo light fitting and internal routing for dynamo cabling. Also has the original colour coded pump!
I imagine it's probably quite collectable, but I haven't got the space anymore and need to trim my collection. Looking for £250, which I think is a fair price for such a nice, rare & original bike. Based on Sussex coast, just outside of Brighton, collection preferred.
Just to add: The paintwork is Gunmetal Grey, rather than brown as it appears in the photos.
For sale of complete bikes, trikes, recumbents ( minor missing components acceptable. e.g. no saddle, no pedals ). Please do NOT post bike bits here. They will be deleted.
