Touring bike based on a Hewitt Cheviot SE frame (53cm CTC top tube, 49cm CTC seat tube) and Surly cross check fork. Both used but in good condition. Frame has the usual minor scratches. Fork is unmarked. Shimano 9 speed triple drive train (42/32/22 FC 750 chainset with 12/34 cassette) but with Campagnolo Xenon right shifter (Shimergo arrangement). Left shifter is a down tube lever. Wheels comprise of Mavic A319 (rear) and A719 (front) 36 hole rims laced by double butted DT spokes to Shimano hubs. Vittoria Hyper 35 mm folding tyres: one new spare included.
Tubus front and rear racks. Small front rack that can host a handlebar bag. Three bottle cages.
Saddle, bike computer and pedals not included.
Collection from Newport South Wales or can deliver to Bristol or Cardiff. £350 ono ---> now £265.

Anyone got any views on how easy would it be to convert to flat bars - and would it fit someone who is 31 inch inside leg and 5'7.5 tall?

It is such a pain that most of the decent used tourers are all drops.
cheers

It can be done

It would need new bars and brake/gear shifters. If using the same stem it would be shorter reach as the brake levers on dropped bars sweep forward and on flat bars are either straight or in many cases come back a bit.

thanks - I can't make this bike out - a mix of campag and shimano drive, but a good frame I suspect.
