Dave Yates Touring Bike for 6foot1inch person- reduced price

Postby Trailriding » 8 Jun 2020, 3:48pm

About 7 years ago, when I first retired , I had a touring bike made by Dave Yates for two front and two rear panniers . I used it for about 3 months touring in SE Asia and then again in China, Europe and the UK . I am 6 foot 1 inch tall .
It is very comfortable being used with a full load for up to 10 hours at a time in the hot sun .
For the last 4 years it has not been used and as I have other bikes and not likely to be used again, so instead of just sitting there I would like to sell it.
I live in Tiverton Devon so whoever buys it will need to collect, ( Covid 19 allowing ).
Price £900

Just a tip, I think you'd be better mentioning the frame size than your height. Some people like larger frames for their size, some smaller. This frame would fit someone who is taller or shorter than you, depending on their requirements.

Thanks for the hint, the trouble is that the normal configurations for frame size do not clearly fit as it was made to measure , but thanks for the helpful comment,
Richard

please could you give the measurements of the top tube centre to centre and seat tube center to top?? It's difficult to guess whether it may fit as I'm Taller than you... Many Thanks,

I hope this helps. The top tube centre of frame to centre of frame is 56 cm and the exposed length is 53 cm
The stem is 9cm .
The top of the seat post part of the frame to the centre of the bottom bracket is 58 cm

Hi,
The standover hight of the crossbar is 80 cms, it is about 1 cm lower at the seat post end and about 1cm higher at the front
