Soft, foldable helmet

Post by jamesbradbury »

For those who wear a helmet this looks like an interesting, comfortable, but rather expensive development.

"Exceed EN1708"

So does a rolled up bit of newspaper..

Makes it slightly less bulky to carry around...

Not really a game changer any more than a radical new design of shoelaces is a game changer for motorist safety...
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.

I did like the idea of it being able to withstand multiple impacts. Judging by the number of people whose lives have been saved multiple times by helmets it would appear that there's a market for such a feature.

As some wag noted on road.cc's Facebook page, a multiple use helmet would be little use because you couldn't show off the shattered remains to prove your life had been saved...

Yeah, typo... 1078.

Reducing trivial impacts in such a manner that they look serious.

The world's first repeat impact protection helmet, which conforms to world safety standards.

It just says "world safety standards", not necessarily the ones you want. It may well be e.g. fireproof and not suffer corrosion from chlorine gas at specified values...
