High speed. Downhill. Road hump. Dark. Cliff.

I'm not sure why a man so obviously careless about his own life would wear a helmet.

The Dangers of Cycling or Branson becomes a cropper

Post by mercalia »

Sir Richard said he was cycling down a hill when he hit a speed bump, and "the next thing I knew, I was being hurled over the handlebars and my life was literally flashing before my eyes."

Oh no this is going to restart the cycling helmet debate as he has already said that it saved his life. Given it also saved James Cracknells polystyrene is certainly a wonder product !
At least he wont be a burden on the NHS given where it happened and also where his company as I understand it is registered !
Wonder whether there is any CTV footage of it !
Anyone seen Jeremy Corbyn lately !

Risk compensation. Without a helmet he would have been going slower with decent front lights and not crashed. Helmet saved his life? Helmet nearly killed him is as valid.

Perhaps there's a missing IMHO in that statement?

Yes, it matches the missing IMHO in Branson's helmet saved his life claim. :-)

I think, given that was a direct quote from the man himself, we can probably take that as read.

I saw some CCTV footage of him passing loads of decent places for him to lie down with his bike before choosing to lie down at the side of a cliff.

Mine was a direct quote from me. Why does one categorical statement need a IMHO and the other not.

Interesting. So the charity (CUK) now belongs to Mr Tooey ? (takeover now complete)

In his own words the main impact was to his shoulder and cheek, but the helmet saved his life.
