"Swedish brand Hövding claims product tests 8 times safer than helmets"

I think would likely to get mugged in London? or picked up by the cops as an invader from outer space

Well no you wouldnt be seen dead riding this as it only looks like that after it has activated.
People quite possibly would be literally dead if it looked like that.

And here I was waiting for the joke about being dead if you *don't* wear it ;)

Perhaps the point is that anyone wearing it might not be seen dead in the sense that they might have an improved chance of survival, albeit with the other serious injuries which don't get listed in death certificates in addition to massive head injury.

I can see the risk being that something which gave demonstrably better physical protection than an ordinary plastic hat would attract the compulsionists (except to the extent that the £obby is from plastic hat makers.) All the other compulsion arguments apply.

Which leads me to ask, why isn't this in the helmet section?

At least it has fulfilled its purpose for one person then.

It was created to keep such discussions out of the "public eye".

*More accurately posts you've made before are now in that section, although the threads may have been on other boards at the time of posting.

It does appear that the action of inflating the "helmet" causes a sex change :)

Why not wear an air bag?
Perhaps cycling clothes could be fitted with six air bags that inflate during a crash situation?

Sort of Michelin Man suit.
