About 6 mins in.
It shows a cyclist trying out a mountain bike course, it seems he was going slower than others and did not fly over a jump. One rider avoided the jump, that he should have done. He ended up having a head impact. It suggests he should have rode the course slowly to start with and any jumps avoided until he was ready for the sort of jump involved. He also had a backpack that would have had a negative effect in balance terms. Are these course graded, starters, low risk and skill, median risk, higher risk, very high risk etc?

If it's a mountain bike center, they are graded a bit like ski slopes, green and blue for beginners/leisure riders, red for the more adventurous and black for the real rough stuff.
Most obsticles like that also have diversions so you can ride around them if you don't fancy your chances.
For example http://www.gisburnbiketrails.com/trail-info but yes it's generally advisable to do a slow lap on any unfamiliar trail so you know what to expect.
