Much as I respect Wiggins, just coz he can ride a bike, doesn't mean he knows anything.

Does he *actually* ride a bike though? I mean like, everyday on the roads for normal everyday things?

I remember one famous motorcycle racer (name forgotten) didn't hold a motorcycle license.

Exactly.

I remember a quiz show many years ago. I think it was a one-off. The quiz was all about road safety, driving, road use, Highway Code etc. The contestants were all famous and something to do with driving.

Sir Sterling Moss was on the panel, and guess what? He came last! He was useless.

Oh please tell me you're more informed than you appear to be.

Did you spot the question mark (i.e. this: ?)
It's a question. I have no interest in bicycle racing - at all. I mean, absolutely none. The first I heard of Wiggins was probably two weeks ago.
What I want to know is does he ride a bike, everyday, in traffic for normal things. Or is he a simply one of the many who simply blast round the roads on a weekend?

IME, there's a difference. I find utility cyclists and commuters have a different outlook on such things as opposed to weekend warriors.

He was on the TV this morning, I'd say he was almost evalengical about helmets (and music/headphones).
I doubt he realised though the guy had been crushed by a bus.

I wonder how much sponsorship Mr Wiggins gets from his helmet manufacturer.
