has anyone camped in Castlewellan forest park Northern Ireland.

if so whats it like worth a 50mile spin to get there stay overnight maybe 2 nights .

Yes many times over the years ... it's nice .... but then so are all forested parks near mountains .... to be honest ...... what areas are you cycling through to get there is a question ?

I will be cycling the scenic route from Louth to newry taking in carlinford and omeath,I know this rough very well.so do they allow touring cyclists small tent worth the trip.k.

The Mountains of Mourne are really great for walking, fantastic varied landscape with granite tors, right by the sea. A bit steep for cycling though.

i camped in rosstrevor few years ago just at the foot of the mournes what a fantastic place haven't tried Castlewellan yet .
