I wouldn't fancy an uninsulated air bed at any price, even in summer you can get some cold nights and these things just suck the heat out of you. They've been around for decades, they're just gaining some popularity now because they look like the insulated versions, but they're not the same at all.
One of the problems with air mats, insulated or otherwise is if they get a hole you're sleeping on the ground, it's happened to me twice. At least with a self inflating mat there's some foam there even if all the air has leaked out. The Aldi one looks ideal apart from pack size and weight, I quite like the look of this Alpkit one, the same 5cm where it matters, tapering down to 3cm where it matters less. At 880g no lightweight but a lot lighter than the Aldi one and at £55 looks decent value to me.

what I dont like is the valve area. I have seen this valve on many cheap mats and have found that the material creases on the solid plastic inside ( at the internal edge ) and eventualy leaks. I tried to mend there but dont really work ( not this particular mat )
