Can anyone advise on the availability of Camping Gaz resealable cartridges along the above trail, or the threaded Coleman type as I have an adaptor?
The alternative would be to invest in a Trangia if meths or its German equivalent is more widely available
I would appreciate any advice
Thanks in advance

Re: Camping Gaz along Moselle River Trail
About 270k in France followed by a slightly smaller distance in Germany/Luxembourg.
In France alcool a bruler costs 1.80Euro per litre (easter 2017), in Germany Brennspirit is, I think, about 4 Euros or more per litre, I never buy it there so dont know.
So if heading downstream and buying a spare 1 litre before crossing the border you could have some very cheap cooking with a Trangia. It is very easy to buy in any large supermarket along with your normal supplies.
I havent used gas in France but I was surprised that when I had a look in a supermarket they did sell the standard screw on gas canisters, OK a sample size of one which could have been some really freak store but I wonder if the idea that they are not available in France is getting outdated.
I bought a Trangia for my annual French trip but now find that I am using it more and more in the UK too, even for car-based family camping.
As an aside alccol a bruler smells gorgeous but still tastes vile when you get some in the wrong place.

I would be nice to have a worldwide list of where these and other gas cannisters are;
readily available,
available in specialist shops (camping, gas?)
seldom available (where? for each place that this occurs)
unavailable.

Re: Camping Gaz along Moselle River Trail
Gamping gas is universally available in France, worth checking in petrol stations. Super U and other supermarkets generally seem to carry it, along with the shops in fancy campsites. Typically it is the klickfix type fitting, however now Coleman own Camping Gaz, things may change: recently I've seen green Coloman logo klickfix cannisters.
