The Thermos flask above after 8.5 hrs was 72 C starting as 89 C. So the Thermos flask is much better than the DD one but is double the price.

Thanks, that is really useful information. I have a feeling that the DD will not fit well in the bottle cage I'd like to use. I have a pretty small frame and have a side access cage on the seat tube that only takes a 500ml bottle. Is that pink bottle a 750ml one?
This is the size I currently use:

the pink bottle is a poundlander 500ml bottle filled to the top.

the DD is only 400ml or so without filling to the top

total height is 20cm , to the neck is 17cm diameter is approx 7.0cm

the thermos is 22cm total tall and 19cm to the neck and diameter about 6.5cm so narrower

all dim without cork

Hmm I think the DD one would fit, but the "neck" on all of my bottles seems to be at 14/15cm so I suspect the fit would be very much like your picture. Has anyone come across a thermos designed to fit a bottle cage better than this?

Oh and thanks for taking the time to measure all of that and post! Much appreciated.

I think it would then be a very low capacity thermos flask as you have to allow for the double wall? - maybe look at the thermos website as they have lots and lots of differnt models even lower capacity than 500ml

This one..

Looks like it might fit a bottle cage very well. I've seen reports that the narrow section lines up well with the "clamp" bit of a cage. I suspect it will be too tall for my setup though. Hmm if I move my pump I may be able to fit it in....

Dimensions: 25cm x 7.4cm (Height x Diameter)

7.4cm diam maybe be a tight squeeze
The DD one with stopper in is about 24.5cm tall

if you get one report back about the "waist"

its got a nice warranty - 50 years, have to put it in your will

Decided to give it a try (can always use a small flask!). Will let you know how well it fits a bottle cage!

So my flask arrived! As you can see the "waist" is in the just about the right spot (ideally it would be a little bit higher, but it seems to lock in ok)...

It even works with my side inserting cage and it fits inside the frame!

Back to the OP ...
Boil water.
Put Yorkshire Tea Bag in cup.
Pour boiling water in cup.
Add small amount of cold water.
Leave the bag in cup ( "shark fin") ...
Drink Tea .....
If tea goes cold, drink tea.
Whats milk got to do with it .....or sugar ....
