Hi,
Many uses, I use quite a bit of it, 3M so should be good, in time it degrades if outside in the sun.
I make up tarps to cover stuff in the garden, tarps and tape might last a few years.

Years ago I was being promoted teh Navy from Leading Hand to Petty Officer.

It is a change in uniform, and you know it is coming,so you do not update the old one

Two days before, the crotch split on my Dress uniform, so I repaired it with masking tape.... It worked!!!!!!

Except that although I got away with it, as I was marching in, the tape started to peel back, and marching smartly with this tape pulling the hairs from your inner thigh is uncomfortable to say the least

Hi,
This type of gaffer tape, my rain jacket had holes from a fall, quickly put some tape on inside, washed since in machine and tape is still stuck :)

Yes, i did similar with the non outdoor duct tape on my great karrimor pertex top.

Went through multiple washes.

Until I managed to lose it off the back of the bike :(

Not as good as spinnaker tape for light jacket repairs... but one hell of a lot cheaper.

On a mountain first aid course I did years ago one of my fellow students asked the instructor what he carried in his personal first aid kit. He said he didn't bother aside from a roll of gaffer tape as you could improvise anything with that (and you can, first aid is more about procedures than stuff).
Often seen riding a bike around Dundee...

Talk of spinnakers has me feeling a bit disillusioned that the members of Her Britannic Majesty's senior service are not only togged out in unreliable kit but that they have to rely on adhesive tape for repairs. Sounds a bit Blue Peterish to me.

I'd have assumed they'd all have an emergency kit of twine and a bodkin (or whatever it's called) for such repairs although care would be needed to avoid a stray thread through the foresail or rowlocks.

(Predictive spelling seems haywire this morning.)

well I hope its better than the 3M duct tape they sell - has a cloth body but after a time the adhesive turns gooy and deteriorates into a real mess
