Have a look at dd hammocks website they have a tutorial on setting up the tarp in several different ways. Avery versatile piece of kit.you could take a mossy net too.A ground sheet is handy .

Be aware that there are some shaped tarps that are somewhere between a tent and a tarp like the Trailstar where you can optionally pitch it with far more enclosure if you want. More elaborate means more money, but these things have a good reputation in real-world use.
